Learn About Membership - National HPV Vaccination Roundtable

Established in 2014 in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the American Cancer Society National HPV Vaccination Roundtable (ACS HPVRT) is a national coalition of over 100 member organizations working to raise HPV vaccination rates and prevent HPV cancers in the US through coordinated leadership, strategic planning, and advocacy.

Why Join the ACS HPVRT?

ACS HPVRT members enjoy benefits and services designed to magnify the impact that each organization can have in their efforts toward ending vaccine-preventable HPV cancers. Members can learn about the latest news, events, tools, and resources via regular email updates. Members can attend the ACS HPVRT Annual Meeting to share ideas, get up-to-date information about HPV vaccination, and wrestle with pressing issues. Lastly, the ACS HPVRT offers its members a place to work together on various initiatives designed to leverage each other’s talents and address pressing needs around HPV vaccination.

Membership Information

Membership Overview

It takes many voices to create an effective coalition. A fundamental premise of the ACS HPVRT is that collective action among the member organizations will be more successful in preventing the burden of HPV-related cancers, and reducing that burden faster, than if we worked alone. The ACS HPVRT consists of organizational members, corporate members, invited individuals, and affiliate members who reflect a broad involvement in key priority areas related to HPV vaccination and cancer prevention.

The ACS HPVRT provides a trusted, neutral platform to tackle the most complex HPV-related cancer challenges together. Members work to identify needs and opportunities, mobilize resources, and accelerate practice changes that improve outcomes for patients and families.

Membership Responsibilities

Members are expected to attend at least one meeting per year, in order to maintain membership. There are no dues or fees. Members are encouraged to actively participate on committees or priority teams, as they are developed by the ACS HPVRT leadership.

The committees will focus on maintaining the structure and function of the ACS HPVRT; priority teams focus on producing materials, products or studies, or convening meetings to advance issues or areas of interest and impact. The work is most often conducted by conference calls or email exchange with an occasional in-person meeting.

The Rules for Engagement of the American Cancer Society Roundtables clarify the expectations for participation by members and representatives of the ACS HPVRT. Members are expected to respect and comply with these Rules and all other applicable ACS policies, observe high standards of conduct, and participate in establishing and maintaining such high standards.

Membership Categories and Criteria

Organizational Member

Organizational members are defined as any organization (including government agencies) that joins in support of the ACS HPVRT’s mission and goals. They are committed to advancing the shared agenda and goals of the ACS HPVRT by actively participating in roundtable activities. Organizational members demonstrate outstanding expertise in HPV vaccination and cancer prevention with broad potential for education and promotional opportunities. These members have full participatory rights, voting rights, and qualify for leadership positions.

Organizational Members must:

Commit to advancing the shared agenda and goals of the ACS HPVRT.
Commit to actively participate in roundtable activities.
Demonstrate a broad potential (national, regional, or state) to educate and promote on the roundtable subject matter.
Demonstrate outstanding expertise in the subject matter area of the roundtable. OR
Demonstrate critical expertise in populations that experience disparities.

Corporate Member

Corporate members are defined as organizations that join in support of ACS HPVRT’s mission and goals, but also make or distribute a product that aids in HPV vaccination or HPV cancer prevention and early detection. This category also applies to any organization that has significant commercial interest in providing services where such interests have potential to cause actual or perceived improper influence or undue bias. These members have limited participatory rights, are non-voting, and unable to hold leadership positions.

Corporate Members must:

Commit to advancing the shared agenda and goals of the ACS HPVRT.
Commit to actively participate in roundtable activities.
Demonstrate a broad potential (national, regional, or state) to educate and promote on the roundtable subject matter.
If a delivering a product, efficacy of products must be supported by scientific research.

Individual Member (By Invitation Only)

Individual members are defined as individuals with outstanding expertise in HPV vaccination and cancer prevention. These members must be invited to apply and approved by the roundtable steering committee. They have full participatory rights, voting rights, and qualify for leadership positions.

Individual Members must:

Commit to advancing the shared agenda and goals of the ACS HPVRT.
Commit to actively participate in roundtable activities.
Demonstrate outstanding expertise in the subject matter area of the roundtable.

Affiliate Member

Affiliate members are defined as organizations that join in support of the ACS HPVRT’s mission and goals, but do not meet the criteria of any other membership category. These members have limited participatory rights, are non-voting, and unable to hold leadership positions.

Affiliate Members must:

Commit to advancing the shared agenda and goals of the ACS HPVRT.
Demonstrate a potential to educate and promote on the roundtable subject matter.

Apply For ACS HPVRT Membership

The ACS National HPV Vaccination Roundtable (ACS HPVRT) and the ACS National Roundtable on Cervical Cancer (ACS NRTCC) will be consolidating into a single roundtable in 2026. We are no longer accepting membership applications for these two roundtables and will open up applications for membership to the newly consolidated roundtable in early Fall of 2026. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
