State Coalitions & Roundtables

Chair: Jane Grey, MPH

Staff Liaison: Christina Turpin

The State Coalition and Roundtable task group includes representatives from national and state-level organizations collaborating to develop tools, resources, and networking opportunities for state HPV coalitions. We highly encourage cross-sector collaboration, especially between immunization and cancer prevention efforts.

Through this task group, we seek to:

– Foster coalition building and use of coalition tools

– Provide networking opportunities for states to learn from one another

– Provide access to national HPV vaccination experts

– Provide a forum for best practices to rise and flow from the state level to the National Roundtable

– Provide a space for national partners to coordinate state-level efforts

– Provide guidance on the evaluation of state-based efforts

Products of the State Coalition and Roundtable Task Group include regional convening summits, guides for state and local coalitions and the HPV vaccination state coalition activities data map.

Beginning in September 2022, select representatives of southeastern states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia) and Puerto Rico—where the rate of HPV vaccination coverage has historically been the lowest—united with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the American Cancer Society and the National HPV Vaccination Roundtable to discuss improving HPV vaccination in these regions to prevent HPV cancers.
